Fendi Casa Peekachill armchair

The Peekaboo bag, with its half open flap revealing what lies within, is the starting point for Peekachill. Fendi Casa’s armchair translates that idea into a form that opens to show its upholstery, the inside out effect of the Peekasit series. Controvento draws it to a more intimate, compact scale, sinuous and snug, a seat made to be settled into rather than sat upon.

Design Inspiration & Philosophy

Rather than simply shrink the Peekasit armchair, Gabriele Chiave and Verdiana Vannini, the founders of Controvento, set out to reconsider it, holding its character while bringing it closer to the body. The shell keeps its firm, protective line and the interior stays soft, so the contrast that gives the series its name carries through at the smaller size. The result is quieter and more personal, a chair to be drawn into rather than one made to command a room.

An Inside Out Seat

The defining detail is the contrast of surfaces. A shell of fine leather forms the firm, curving exterior, while the seat and back are wrapped in a plush lining that sits within it. The two play against each other, cover against fill, exactly as the bag does when it opens. The leather holds the shape, and the padding turns it into a place to settle.

Compact and Snug

Where the Peekasit armchair makes a generous statement, Peekachill works at a tighter, more personal size. The name points to its character, a chair for settling in rather than sitting up, with a snug interior that holds the body and sinuous lines that soften its outline. Its compact footprint suits a reading corner or a place beside a sofa, present without dominating the room.

Finished to Order

Peekachill is built to be specified. The exterior and the seat can be finished in different materials, with upholstery drawn from the broad Fendi Casa range of fabrics, sheepskin and hides, so one form reads light and understated or dark and graphic. Setting the cover against what it wraps sharpens the inside out effect, while matching the two keeps it harmonious. The result is a single chair with many characters.

Materials and Customisation

Peekachill is finished to order, with the shell and the upholstery specified separately.

– Outer shell in fine leather, the firm structure that gives the inside out effect

– Seat and back upholstered in fabric, sheepskin or leather from the Fendi Casa collection

– Cover and lining matched for a quiet look, or contrasted to play one against the other

– Extensive customisation, with materials and colours chosen across the range

– Dimensions and the full materials list confirmed through Fendi Casa on specification

Perfect For

– An alcove off a larger room, where its compact scale sits in proportion

– Long evenings unwinding with a book, settled deep into the seat

– A marble bathroom or dressing room, where the leather shell warms the cool stone

– A clean lined interior, warmed and softened by a single curved form

– Conversation by the fire, a pair of chairs drawn close

– A boutique hotel suite, its compact scale and leather equal to constant use

Peekachill brings the Peekaboo idea down to a single, intimate seat. A firm leather shell wrapping a plush lining makes a chair to disappear into at the end of the day.
