This year, the brand’s journey leads it to unite two worlds that are distant yet also closely connected like Japan and Denmark, the homelands of designer duo Inoda+Sveje, made up of Kyoko Inoda and Nils Sveje. This important stage follows the brand’s explorations of Rodolfo Dordoni’s Italy, Christophe Delcourt’s France, Nendo’s Japan, the Brazil of Marcio Kogan / studio mk27 and the Denmark of GamFratesi.
The 2022 Collection introduces three designs of indoor furnishing pieces by Inoda+Sveje that reflect the traditional aesthetic and art of artisan wood-working, typical of their countries of origin, entrusting it to Minotti’s impressive production expertise and fine tailoring skills. The results are the Sendaifamily, comprising small sofa, armchair, dining and lounge small armchairs; the Yokofamily, with armchair, dining armchair and footstool-bench;Lars, a sofa with a particular asymmetrical shape.
Moreover, one of the protagonists of the 2022 Collection is the new Horizonte seating system by Marcio Kogan / studio mk27 which marks the horizon of the living space, taking shape from a suspended base, covered in leather, fabric or both, on which generous padding rests.
The modules are not only characterised by their dimensions, but also by their unprecedented softness, capable of maintaining a precise formal aesthetic, despite their welcoming sinkable effect.
A detail that becomes volume is instead the essence of the Goodman design, the new modular seating system by Rodolfo Dordoni. With a clear 70s imprint, the inspiration behind this design is the graphic character of those years. It follows then that in Goodman the mark of matelassé stitching, typical of Minotti’s tailoring processes, draws shadows and light on the seat, creating the sensation of a quilted cross-padding.
Thus the new protagonists of the 2022 Collection, such as the Horizonte seating system by Marcio Kogan / studio mk27 and the Goodman and Twiggy systems designed by Rodolfo Dordoni, complement the Sendai, Yoko and Lars family of seats by Japanese-Danish designer duo Inoda+Sveje, but also bestsellers such as Roger, Connery, Brasilia and Torii, all of which have now become iconic designs within the Minotti collection, presented here alongside the new additions to lend a new impetus and new potential for use and combinations.
Also by Rodolfo Dordoni, Twiggy is the new family of seats with rigorous but aesthetically comfortable and enveloping geometric shapes, which stands out for its ability to revolutionise living spaces with an ideal of timeless beauty.
The family originated as a single armchair in the Small, Large and Deep versions, with and without armrest, and was extended to become a veritable system, embellished with stitching that reveals the depth of the brand’s manufacturing know-how combined with its great ability to make even the most sculptural seats extremely comfortable.
Lido by Gamfratesi completes the proposal of furnishing pieces, now also available in the two-seater sofa version: a piece of furniture with small proportions, inspired by the design of the fifties and suitable for domestic spaces as well as for hospitality settings.
The 2022 Outdoor Collection, designed by Rodolfo Dordoni, GamFratesi and Inoda+Sveje marks a further step in the stylistic and technological evolution of the Minotti collections and reaffirms the company’s unequivocal and increasingly strong will to transfer the aesthetics of the indoor pieces to the outdoor living spaces.
Patio Teak signed by GamFratesi is characterized as a compositional mosaic. In the new wooden version, an evolution of the family that originated in aluminium, the warmth of the raw material is combined with careful technological research to produce a supporting structure in Teak. The design makes it possible to create conversation, relaxation and vis-à-vis areas for every taste, interspersing seating with coffee tables and adding ottomans and benches.
The Yoko chair evolves to become the Yoko Cord Outdoorproject by Japanese-Scandinavian duo Inoda+Sveje, composed of an armchair, small dining armchair and ottoman bench, available in versions with and without upholstery, all with a natural teak frame. The seat and backrests are strung with Écru or Dark Brown polypropylene cord on which soft cushions, upholstered with fabrics from the 2022 Textile Outdoor Collection, rest.
The enveloping and comfortable body of the Belt Cord Outdoor seats designed by Rodolfo Dordoni for indoor use in 2021 also shapes the outdoor version. The band which, in the original design, outlines the silhouette of the volume recalling the shape of a belt, in its outdoor version becomes a corded contour in the colours Sand and Dark Brown, covering the polished Bronze metal frame.
In 2022, the research and creativity of Minotti Studio and its in-house Ufficio Stile are again deployed in the design and development of the brand new Indoor / Outdoor Textile & Leather Collection, created exclusively for the company with the collaboration of highly selected partners: fabrics and leathers of great elegance, which fully interpret the mood of the 2022 Collection and aim to enhance the craftsmanship and sartorial identity of the padded seats.
