Description

The Draenert Nobile Soft 2076, designed by Gino Carollo and introduced in 2009, takes the Nobile family into softer territory. Where the core leather 2072 works through robust surface and precise geometry, the Soft version envelops the sitter in generously padded glove-soft upholstery across seat and back alike. It has since become the bestselling chair in the Draenert collection, a position earned through an extraordinarily wide material palette and genuine, measurable comfort.

Design Evolution

Carollo conceived the Nobile Soft as a natural progression rather than a departure. The flex back mechanism that defines the wider Nobile family carries over intact, but here it is partnered with a cushioned seat and back in place of the firm, unpadded hide. The chair responds to the body at two levels: structurally, through the swinging backrest, and tactilely, through the yielding embrace of the upholstery. Draenert calls it an all-rounder, and the description is accurate.

Glove-Soft Upholstery

The defining quality of the 2076 is its cover material. Draenert describes the standard finish as glove-soft leather, a hide with a noticeably fine-grained, yielding surface distinct from the denser texture of core leather. The softness is felt on first contact and holds with extended use. For those preferring a woven finish, four separate fabric collections are available, extending the range into matte textures suited to a broader set of interior palettes.

Frame & Leg Options

The legs of the Nobile Soft are leather covered as standard, maintaining a consistent upholstered look from seat to floor. For those preferring exposed metalwork, the frame is offered in a range of finishes that shift the chair’s character considerably, from warm and tonal to cool and contemporary. The slender metal leg in particular introduces a noticeably lighter visual weight to the same silhouette.

Configuration Options

Available in the following configurations:

– Without armrests, leather covered legs, over 90 leather colours across two collections

– With fully upholstered armrests, leather covered legs, over 90 leather colours

– Metal leg finish options: polished chrome, matt chrome, dark bronze, black, gold colour, nickel colour or colour lacquered to specification

– Backrest available in standard height or slender lean back version

– Four fabric collections available across all configurations as an alternative to leather

– Dimensions: 48W x 54D x 87.5H cm, seat height 47.5 cm, seat depth 44 cm, armrest height 68 cm, backrest width 48 cm

Perfect For

– Dining rooms where long sittings demand comfort beyond the purely aesthetic

– Contract projects requiring a well-covered chair with a wide colour and material range

– Mixed interiors where leather and woven textiles need to share a cohesive chair profile

– Hospitality settings that require a flexible, well-finished seat across round and long table formats

– Homes where the dining chair functions equally well as an accent piece in a living space

– Designers working across residential and commercial briefs from a single chair specification

The Nobile Soft holds the bestselling position in the Draenert range because it is genuinely difficult to argue with: a giving seat, a responsive back and a material range that fits almost anywhere.
