In the heart of Milan, just steps from Piazza San Babila, Palazzo Durini Caproni di Taliedo has been Edra’s Milanese home since 2021. A space dedicated to the collection, where Edra’s creations exist in perfect harmony with the historic beauty of the architecture and works of art.
Crossing the threshold of the Palazzo means embarking on a journey through history, art, and the lives of the distinguished figures who have safeguarded it over the centuries. Designed by Francesco Maria Richini, the foremost interpreter of 17th-century Milanese architecture, the Palazzo welcomes visitors into a place shaped by remarkable protagonists: Gian Giacomo II Durini, who in the 1600s entrusted its decoration to the finest painters of the time; Senator Borletti, who preserved it in the early 20th century; aviation pioneer Giovanni Battista Caproni, who chose it as his residence and initiated a profound renovation; renowned architects Piero Portaluppi and Attilio Spaccarelli, who intervened in both structure and interiors; and Countess Timina Guasti, whose careful restoration of the frescoes and garden helped define the appearance we recognize today.
Edra’s products are seamlessly integrated into the rooms, framed by the Palazzo’s architecture. Mirrored surfaces multiply forms and reflect models and details, frescoed ceilings, Venetian floors, and 18th-century decorative perspectives.
Along a path that brings together classic and contemporary, nature and city, Palazzo Durini preserves the solemnity of the past while continually renewing itself through the refined elegance and absolute comfort of the Edra collection.
As Pierfrancesco Meazzini Boccadoro, Chief Executive Officer of Quartieri Durini S.p.A., recalls:
“Palazzo Durini has always fascinated me for its timeless elegance, which it still conveys today. The Caproni family, who have lived here for over a century, have restored, preserved, and returned the complex to its original splendor. We are delighted to share with Edra this love for beauty and art.”
Edra has chosen Palazzo Durini as its permanent showroom for its unique ability to embody and represent shared values of elegance, culture, and the preservation of beauty. Within the Palazzo, the collection finds its ideal setting—designed to be lived in and experienced.
