Belgian designer Nik Aelbrecht, a new talent in the Cappellini world, debuts with the Openup table, presented last June at the Salone del Mobile in Milan. This collection, available with round or rectangular tops, celebrates the lightness and purity of design. The simple and unconventional choice of shifting the table legs from the corners to the sides invites people to take place and, at the same time, surprises by giving a sense of openness and apparent instability. To enrich and perfect the project a play of lines, shadows and details gives sensuality and complexity to the extreme formal synthesis of this table.
The Openup table by Nik Aelbrecht has a painted laser-cut metal base and a top in ash plywood. The contemporary vision of the project is also in the colours, black and white, and makes the table suitable for a dining room of a large mansion or even for modern and unconventional living areas.
