The latest Bonbori collection, designed by the renowned Japanese designer Fumie Shibata, offers both indoor and outdoor options. The light draws inspiration from the traditional paper lanterns that adorn the pathways to shrines and temples during Japan’s annual paddy harvest festivals. In Japanese, “bonbori” not only refers to this traditional form of lighting, but also describes the soft light emanating from within a snowy cave.

This new light features a minimalist stainless-steel base with an eco-friendly powder coating. The easily detachable LED light source emits a gentle glow through a diffuser and laser-cut openings in the stainless steel. The resemblance to the traditional bonbori lamp is achieved through an exquisite hand-blown glass shade, crafted from multiple layers of meticulously molded glass.

The shade is available in opal and opaline glass, while the metal base comes in black matte, copper metallic matte, or grey metallic matte.

Bonbori’s soft light pays homage to the traditional Japanese lantern. Its expertly crafted hand-blown glass and gentle radiance create a magical and festive ambiance, perfect for enjoying alone or with loved ones. The new indoor light is equipped with special connectors developed by Brokis, making it easy to unplug and move outdoors to a covered exterior space.
