Also this year, Ritzwell will be participating in Salone del Mobile.Milano with a large exhibition stand where two highly sophisticated new entries will be joining its living collections, which are already internationally acclaimed – the CONSTANTINO ARMCHAIR and the MT COFFEE TABLE. The result of a fortunate combination between Japanese sensitivity and contemporary design, both these new products reflect the company’s philosophy. A company that was founded in 1992 by Fukuoka and is solidly based on the idea of using high-quality materials, like solid walnut or oak wood, steel and leather, embellished by finishes and details entirely processed by hand by skilled master craftsmen. Like for the other products signed by Ritzwell, also the CONSTANTINO ARMCHAIR and MT COFFEE TABLE convey a reassuring feeling of harmony and wellbeing.
CONSTANTINO ARMCHAIR
Design Shinsaku Miyamoto
The CONSTANTINO ARMCHAIR reinterprets classic elegance with a more contemporary vision. Its structure in solid walnut or oak wood is distinguished by the tapered legs and curved armrests which are enriched with two different contrast finishes in leather or thick leather, to provide maximum comfort and support. The two finishes are applied with two different seams: the version in thick leather is hand-stitched, while the version in leather is piped and conveys a more minimal finish. The paddings of the backrest and seat cushion are made with several layers of materials with different intensities and offer an outstanding ergonomic support inviting users to yield to the temptation to surrender to even longer moments of relaxation. The advanced upholstery technique employed by the company’s atelier emphasises the shape and style of the armchair, which is offered with the wood structure in different finishes combined with an upholstery in fabric or leather.
MT COFFEE TABLE
Design Shinsaku Miyamoto
The MT COFFEE TABLE, on the other hand, is a new declination of the MT DINING TABLE. Created for the conversation area and offered in a square or rectangular shape, it combines a top in solid oak or walnut wood with delicate curves and slender cylindrical steel legs, in a natural finish, grey or matt black varnish. Made in two different heights, in a lower version of 21cm (about 8 inches), it reflects the typical Japanese floor seating (“yukaza”), which is considered to represent the ideal posture to relax body and mind. The MT COFFEE TABLE was initially conceived as a side table for the traditional Western living room, but its delicate appearance also inspires new types of Tokonoma, the characteristic small, elevated alcoves that house the most precious and valuable items of the family in a traditional Japanese home.
This year, Ritzwell’s collections are particularly expressive thanks to the two new colours, Sohboku and Gen, of the walnut wood created with a delicate process of colour application that preserves the distinctive features of the wood grain. In the Sohboku colour variation, the deepest part of the material is dyed with an intense, almost black, blue – a process that gradually becomes lighter towards the external surface, enriching the wood with nuances that are reminiscent of the deep blue sea. The Gen colour variation, on the other hand, conveys a warm and intense shade of brown that comes close to the colour of ebony, with a sophisticated and dynamic look distinguished by a subtle colour gradation that echoes the hues of the sky after a sunset.
We look forward to seeing you from 16 to 21 April 2024 at Salone del Mobile.Milano hall 9 booth B01-B03.
