For Roda the new year starts with energy. This is what contagiously emerges from the pages of the catalogue featuring new products for 2023: five original projects, joined by new materials and finishes for three existing product families. New offerings that stem from a constant focus on quality, sustainability and wellbeing. Together, they generate a dimension we can sum up in two words: Outdoor Happiness.
The new creations: Estendo (design Luca Pevere) is a modular system based on a game of joints hidden inside the aluminium structure. Functionality and versatility join forces in a relaxed idea of comfort. The Onda armchair, chaise longue and pouf (design Gordon Guillaumier), with very soft forms, are covered in water-repellent fabric, for carefree outdoor use. Easy to move thanks to a handy belt-handle.
Sign and design
The Calla chair (design Roda Studio) is an essential volume, an aluminium structure on which to stretch the Batyline covering, creating an enveloping back to welcome cushions. Linear design returns in the Gamma table (design Roda Studio), with a structure in coated metal and a top in marble, stone, stoneware or teak staves. Iroko, a durable type of wood that stands up to humidity, is seen in the Zania stackable chair and table (design Roda Studio), with slatted tops and legs featuring rounded ends.
The three product families already in the catalogue now presented in new versions are Eden, a seating component system with ample, modular volumes, now also available in natural teak; Spool, a sofa with a rounded back, now in Batyline for a wide range of colors; and the Spinnaker, a classic of the world of Roda, with a new top in blanched teak.
A place to be happy
The house that provides the background for this story is a project by Gordon Guillaumier near the city of Noto, in Sicily. A place where the Mediterranean – a basic part of Roda’s DNA – comes enchantingly to life. Pure outdoor happiness.
