Load-it is a versatile book shelving system that can fulfill different daily functions.
It is made up of thin L-shaped shelves in highly resistant, wax-finished steel, as well as painted in white or in the special burnished brass, porphyry grey or antique red finishes. The shelves come in two widths: 1000 and 2000 mm.
The product is completed with wall panels that are available in many customizable sizes and in a variety of finishes, ranging from matt and glossy lacquer to the wood types of Porro’s Collection and in 3D wood finishes to the canneté (natural, sabbia oak or black stained), mirror, wax-finished steel, burnished brass, Porfido grey and rosso antico finishes as well as fabric either one of the selected collection or a special customer’s fabric and . The system also features steel sheet bo-okends in the same finishes as the shelf.
Another peculiarity of Load-it is the possibility to mix it with the Modern system so as to further increase the range of compositions and uses of this very plain bookcase.
Finishes
WOLFGANG TOLK
Wolfgang Tolk studied at Braunschweig School of Art (Hochschule für Bildende Künste Braunschweig) and in 1981 he moved to the Academy of Fine Arts of Düsseldorf to Prof. Gerhard Hoehme. In primal collaboration with Ingo Maurer, Tolk designed the halogen lamp Minimum presented in several European museums. Since 1990, beside his work as an artist, he realised prototypes of clear minimalist linear objects, mostly in stainless steel and wood. His works were exhibited in Cologne, Chicago, Milan and Kortrjik (Belgium).
Tolk started working with Porro in 1999 with Load-It, one of the most requested piece of Porro collection. With its essential and clear form it joins the production philosophy of Porro factory. Now Tolk is living in Cologne.
