Softcase was conceived as an architectural system designed to define the living space, rather than simply furnish it. Its construction, articulated in elements that interact with precision, gives the composition a distinctive character. The variety of configurations and the breadth of customization options allow for ever-changing arrangements, tailored to both the environment and the sensibility of those who live in it. An open, evolving project that establishes itself as a focal presence at the centre of the room.
The concept stands out for its shaped shell that outlines the back, characterised at the centre by a vertical seam, establishing its signature style through generous, harmonious proportions. Upholstered in leather or in fabric and finished with double perimeter stitching, it forms a compact volume that naturally accommodates the backrest. Internally, the backrests, anchored to the seat yet designed to evoke the softness of cushions, are structured by an original horizontal graphic detail in soft silicone, introducing a tactile counterpoint that enhances the overall sense of comfort.
Softcase reimagines the square-lined sofa through a clear, formal language that echoes the defining traits of Minotti’s design heritage, infusing it with a more pronounced and tangible plushness: volumes expand and ease, shaping welcoming angles that turn rigour into a cosier, more immersive living experience.
The armrests, like the backrests, despite appearing to rest lightly on the piece, are in fact seamlessly integrated with fluid continuity. The side profile of the shell, marked by a trapezoidal geometry clearly traced along its outline, becomes an expressive feature that lends rhythm and coherence to the entire design.
Composed of one-piece seats, Softcase offers a broad and versatile range suitable for both ordinary and unusual compositions, combining formal rigour with exceptional comfort. The base, a slim frame in polished, brushed extruded aluminium, traces the perimeter of the upholstery.
Rooted in modernism yet attentive to design tradition, Softcase blends proportion and balance in a natural synthesis, equally suited to contemporary interiors and more classical contexts.
