SAKI

In Japan, the term “Saki” means blooming, and it is precisely to the unfolding of flower buds that Nendo pays tribute with a family of seats, characterised by the presence of sinuous support panels for the backrest and armrests. These panels can be lacquered in various shades or upholstered in fabric or leather, allowing for endless combinations, giving each furnishing piece a refined and eclectic aesthetic. Based on a concept of modularity, Saki is available in 2-, 3-, or 4-seat sofa versions with two different depths, in an armchair version with or without armrests, in benches and in original island-like elements, available in various configurations. The system features large seats with a curvilinear silhouette, embellished with a perimeter piping that elegantly defines its profile. Oki Sato interprets the symbol of the bud “in the subtle incisions made on the top of the cushion, at the corner, creating a well-balanced separation and cohesion, seamlessly transitioning from the backrest to the armrest.” A light and sinuous movement, translating into an enveloping and protective comfort, further enhanced by the softness of the cushions featuring a moulded internal structure, the result of meticulous ergonomic design. The square island version, whose surface is enriched with stitching that intersects at the centre, is particularly inviting and can be used as a spacious seating area where multiple people can lie out or sit along its perimeter, in lounge, residential, or Hospitality spaces. In addition to its tailored features, it is enhanced by curvilinear aluminium feet with a dynamic aesthetic, also used for all the other elements in the family. The armchair is also available with an additional floor support consisting of a square base with rounded corners, in both swivel and fixed versions.
