The Vivienne seating system is inspired by the semicircular curved backrest of the Vivienne armchair, featuring a contemporary aesthetic designed by Italian-Danish duo GamFratesi. The embrace of the backrest that wraps around the seat also acts as an armrest, giving it a particularly decorative flair. The project features a finely contoured upholstered base, supported by recessed aluminium bars, which hosts and partially conceals the thickness of the cushions.
As a result, the seat appears thinner — a detail that gives the upholstery a more delicate look, making it feel light while remaining incredibly comfortable. The designers describe this seating system as “a piece that plays with the harmony of shapes. Its soft and generous curves, typical of the Vivienne Large armchair, evolve into a sofa system with new proportions. A perfect balance between sinuosity and geometric rigour, between the decorative and the essential, making it suitable for any modern space while maintaining an iconic and organic character.”
Vivienne is a system that offers great compositional versatility, and, in addition to sofas, end pieces and chaise lounges, it also includes elements with tops, thus giving rise to original combinations and creating a cohesive style for spaces of different sizes.
Structure
Metal coated in fire-resistant polyurethane foam and encased in breathable heat-bonded fibre laminated to white hypoallergenic cotton fabric to lend extra softness.
To facilitate removal of the upholstery, the backrest/armrest elements can easily be lifted out by removing the screws located on the underside.
Bases
In extruded brushed aluminium or varnished Black Coffee colour, both with glossy anti-fingerprint finish. Nylon glides.
Finishes
– MDF, 30 mm thick, contoured, with upper surface in brushed ash veneer, open-pore Licorice colour lacquer finish and lower surface glossy black lacquered;
– MDF, 30 mm thick, contoured, with upper surface in Canaletto walnut veneer, stained Light Brown and lower surface glossy lacquered, matching the veneer;
– MDF, 30 mm thick, contoured, Moka, Cappuccino or Birch Grey colour glossy lacquer finish. Underpanel in MDF, 30 mm thick, matt black lacquer finish.
– MDF, 30 mm thick, contoured, with upper surface in brushed ash veneer, open-pore Licorice colour lacquer finish and lower surface glossy black lacquered;
– MDF, 30 mm thick, contoured, with upper surface in Canaletto walnut veneer, stained Light Brown and lower surface glossy lacquered, matching the veneer;

Covers
Upholstery is completely removable in both the fabric and leather versions.
Table-top surfaces
For some elements, the seating system includes a table-top available in different sizes and configurations. The top is divided into 2 pieces, with exception of the 30×83 cm top.
Cushions
Seat cushion in high resilience, variable-density polyurethane foam and topper in temperature-sensitive material. The upper part of the seat is covered in breathable cotton fabric bearing the Minotti logo. Backrest cushion in channelled goose down, subject to routine sanitisation as specified in EC Regulation No. 1069/2009 (Assopiuma Gold Label certified), with core insert in polyurethane foam.
