Fendi Casa Peekasit armchair and ottoman
Drawn from the same Controvento project as the Peekasit sofa, the armchair condenses the idea into a single seat. Fendi’s iconic Peekaboo bag supplies the reference and the design answers it with pure, welcoming shapes rather than surface decoration. Upholstery in fabric or sheepskin meets a structure in fine Signoria leather, producing the inside out effect that defines the whole family. Paired with its ottoman, it becomes a complete resting position.
Description
Design Inspiration & Philosophy
Controvento read the Peekaboo as a question of what shows and what stays concealed. On the armchair the answer is compact. The leather structure forms a firm outer profile, the softer material occupies the inside, and the join between them does the storytelling. Because the piece is small enough to be read at a glance, the material contrast carries more weight here than it does across a full seating composition.
Armchair and Ottoman
The ottoman repeats the armchair’s construction at a lower height and continues the same relationship between leather and upholstery. Placed together the two form one volume that can be broken apart when the room needs it. The ottoman also works as extra perching during a gathering or as a base for a tray, which makes the pair more useful than a conventional chair and footstool.
Texture and Detail
Bouclé and sheepskin both suit the compact volume, one adding a dry, knotted texture and the other a longer pile with visible movement. The Signoria leather structure holds them in place through visible strapping and clean seam runs. Close inspection is where the piece earns its place, since the cut of the leather around the curve is what keeps the profile crisp.
