Gallotti&Radice Stresa console and shelf
Stresa is a wall mounted shelf and boiserie panel designed by Dainelli Studio for Gallotti&Radice, a quietly architectural piece for the wall. A slim leather covered shelf sits against a panel of stained open pore wood, with an opaline glass lamp resting on the surface in the lit version. The composition brings warmth and a soft glow to an entrance, a bedroom or a living room wall, reading as both a surface and a light source.
Description
Design Inspiration & Philosophy
Dainelli Studio frames Stresa around the panelled wall, or boiserie, treating it as a backdrop rather than a freestanding object. The panel fixes to the wall and carries a single shelf, positioned in the upper or lower section to suit the setting. Materials are layered with care, stained wood against fard leather, satin nickel against opaline glass, so each element reads clearly. The lamp turns the shelf into a pool of light, giving the wall a calm, residential presence.
Panel and Shelf
The boiserie is offered in black stained open pore, tobacco stained open pore or “Pure” white stained open pore wood, each finish keeping the grain visible. The wooden shelf is covered in fard leather from the samples and can be specified in the upper or lower position on the panel when ordering. Satin nickel profiles and a sphere support frame the composition with a fine metallic line.
Integrated Lamp
In the lit version an opaque opaline glass lamp of 35 centimetres diameter sits on the shelf, supplied with an E27 bulb. The light is switched through a touch sensor set discreetly beneath the shelf, so no switch is visible on the wall. Stresa can be ordered as a right or left version, placing the lamp on the side that suits the room.
Versions
Beyond the lit model, Stresa is available without the lamp, again with the shelf in the upper or lower position. A newer option offers the panel on its own, without a shelf, in the same three stained finishes. The design can therefore work as a full lit feature, a simple leather shelf or a plain panelled backdrop.
