Design Inspiration & Philosophy

The wing back is one of the oldest chair types in Europe, bound up with fireside formality. Dordoni keeps the enclosure and removes the stiffness, lowering the back and rounding the shoulders until the chair reads as modern without losing the sense of shelter that made the original worth copying in the first place.

The Base

Jensen’s individuality is expressed most clearly in its base. Triangular die cast tubing traces a succession of fluid curves, with thicknesses varying along the run and a roundness that catches light along the edges. The base is an exclusive Minotti Studio design, produced in a pewter shade with an extra glossy anti touch finish, or brushed to a bright finish under a clear protective coat.

Swivel and Footrest

The armchair base is offered with swivel movement and return to the original position, rotating 60 degrees to each side. That limited arc is deliberate. It lets someone turn toward a conversation or a window without the chair spinning freely underneath them. The footrest sits on a fixed base and repeats the body’s stitching, so the two read as one piece when placed together.

Upholstery and Detail

The seat cushion combines goose down with a high density polyurethane insert, giving a surface that yields at once and still supports through a long evening. Caneté stitching around the body is the signature, a fine linear seam that draws the outline. Covers in fabric or leather come off completely by loosening the screws beneath the base.
