Minotti Quadrado outdoor sofa

Brazilian architect Marcio Kogan created Quadrado, a modular system made up of suspended square platforms that bring exceptional lightness and flexibility to outdoor spaces. Quadrado was inspired by the traditional teak duckboard used in the yachting industry to aid in water drainage.

Description

This versatile and dynamic furnishing, known for its quality and comfort, effortlessly complements its surroundings, offering a modern and youthful approach that encourages informal and unique solutions.

The wooden bases accommodate cozy padded cushions with backrests made of a special fiber woven with a wicker-like effect, available in mud or plain liquorice colors.

Within the seating arrangement, wooden surfaces are interspersed with trays or candle holders, allowing for customizable and surprising interlocking combinations.

A round armchair adds to this outdoor landscape characterized by its extensive compositional freedom.

The concept draws inspiration from the Japanese metabolist architecture of the 1950s and 1960s, known for its modular volumes. Initially designed for large living areas with 102×102 cm modules, Quadrado also offers a more compact version with 87×87 cm modules, suitable for urban, residential, and hospitality settings.

The Quadrado double daybed, measuring 242×180 cm, creates an exceptionally comfortable retreat for relaxation and dreaming. The teak duckboard backrest and armrests, along with a sizable mattress and enveloping cushions, give it a niche-like shape. Two bronze metal crosspieces support the double daybed.
