The Minotti Sandy, designed by nendo and introduced as part of the 2026 Collection, is an exterior seating collection built from a single continuous gesture: a sinuous aluminium ribbon that wraps and unfolds in a harmonious rhythm, forming the armrest at one end and extending naturally into the seat and backrest at the other. This dynamic trace rests on a geometric, rigorous base of flat elements on ultra-slim legs, establishing a refined interplay of movement and structure that performs consistently across the full collection of sofa, dormeuse, armchair and dining little armchair.
Description
Design Concept
nendo describe Sandy as a reinterpretation of the imagery of classical gardens, conceived for permanent exterior use in residential and hospitality settings. The continuous aluminium ribbon that defines each piece was chosen not only for its structural performance in open-air environments, but also for its capacity to create what Minotti describes as a sleek, harmonious presence: one that pairs naturally with more substantial pieces and adapts to a wide range of architectural styles and landscapes.
Aluminium Frame & Finishes
The entire frame is formed in aluminium throughout, combining durability with formal precision. The structure is available in five glossy lacquered finishes: Chestnut, Forest Green, Dark Brown, Warm Grey and Dust. These are deep, considered tones that Minotti describes as enhancing the purity of the design, each shifting the character of the collection from warm and earthy to cool and architectural depending on the setting and context.
Cushions & Fastening
Each piece is completed by two separate cushions for the seat and backrest, generous in depth and finished with a piping detail.
