Minotti Elas armchair, bergère & ottoman collection

The Minotti Elas, designed by Marcio Kogan and Studio MK27 as part of the 2026 Collection, takes shape as what Minotti describes as a domestic atlas of feminine design: a constellation of forms paying tribute to the women who shaped international creative culture, architecture and contemporary art in the early twentieth century. At its core is a genuine wicker shell, available in bergère, armchair and footstool configurations, whose interwoven pattern defines the architecture of each piece and simultaneously softens its visual presence.

Description

Design Concept

Kogan’s approach to Elas is grounded in a profound connection with natural material: wicker as a surface that is simultaneously structural and expressive, capable of conveying what the designer describes as refined sensuality through carefully calibrated details. The collection moves through settings with natural ease, extending from domestic interiors to winter gardens and transitional spaces leading outdoors. It carries a clear project awareness throughout, never losing its identity as it shifts context.

Wicker Shell & Base Options

The genuine wicker shell is offered on two base types: a swivel metal base with Bronze-finished spokes, which introduces a warm metallic counterpoint to the natural woven surface, or an all-wooden fixed version for a fully organic material pairing. In the bergère configuration, a leaf-shaped headrest rises as a fluid accent above the back, gently moderating the formal precision of the piece. Soft cushions are seamlessly integrated onto the wicker surface throughout.

Upholstered Variants & Marble Detail

A fully upholstered shell variant is available across the collection, maintaining either the swivel metal base or the fixed wooden base in an array of finishes. The range also includes a bergère with upholstered armrests and a more compact variation, both exclusively offered with the swivel base. In all configurations featuring wooden parts, one of the armrests incorporates a marble insert: a distinctive detail that reinforces the dialogue between natural surfaces and introduces a third material register into the piece.
