Minotti Torii armchair

The Torii modular seats are characterized by a light and airy design that incorporates elements of Japanese tradition. The “torii” entrance gates to Shinto shrines in Japan served as inspiration for the metal leg structure on the seats and tables. This design creates a visually light appearance that complements the padded volume, which showcases detailed craftsmanship.

Description

The Torii collection includes a variety of seating options, such as sofas, armchairs, ottomans, and dining chairs, as well as coffee tables and a console table. The metal frame of the Torii family is reminiscent of the “Senbon Torii”, a wooden colonnade with 1,000 vermilion torii gates, as referenced by Nendo.
The backrest of the seats is elegantly quilted with piping that emphasizes the high-quality craftsmanship. The upholstery can be customized with fabric or leather coverings, and leather magazine caddies can be added as accessories. The metal details of the base are designed to resemble the Kigumi technique from Japanese wood construction, adding a touch of sophistication to the pieces.

The armchairs are available in different versions to meet various needs, with options for leather or fabric bases. Some elements feature marble tops with a matte polyester lacquer finish, seamlessly integrated into the design.

The Torii Nest Small Armchair has a solid ash wood frame and a braided leather backrest that takes inspiration from Vienna straw. The Torii coffee tables also reflect the structural style of the seats, with metal frames and various top options, including marble, pâte de verre, and brushed ash wood.
